Beaded Orbits is a 2’ x 2’ quilt with four beaded medallions representing the phases of orbits placed in each corner and a beaded Psyche in the center. They are attached to fabric of celestial and space themed designs. The quilt layout of the fabric represents the dreams space exploration inspire, and I chose to laboriously bead as a nod to how much work goes into a mission.

2-D Earth and Moon greet you with a smile as the camera zooms in to reveal a cloud. A smiling satellite flies off to the right in space and greets Mars with a grin. It continues onward to see an asteroid. After circling the asteroid, the two figures smile at one another. The screen fades to thank you for watching with the Earth, Moon, Mars, and Psyche smiling back.

The piece is a planar sculpture depicting the asteroid (16) Psyche. Each plane is made from tightly wrapped white yarn. The sculpture is lit from the inside. It is oriented so that the two craters of the asteroid are prominently featured on the bottom of the sculpture.

This two-page information comic is filled with vibrant colors sticking to the cohesive color scheme of orange, green, blue, and purple. The art style is clean and graphic by using shapes and lines to produce highlights and shadows. Panels that explain the context and history of Psyche the asteroid shows outer space filled with stars and nebulae. Other panels show size comparisons and the launching of the spacecraft.

This animation is has nearly 900 colored triangles, which fly around the screen and come together in different ways to make multple images. The video starts with the asteroid (16) Psyche. It then shows Annibal de Gasparis, the discoverer of Psyche. Triangles making up his face then shift to create a telescope, which looks up at a round planet. Text on the screen explains that Psyche is thought to be a planetary core that was exposed to collisions from space debris. The accompanying animation shows stripping of the outer shell of a planet, revealing the asteroid Psyche. The video explains Psyche is made mostly of nickle-iron, which is part of why it's unique. The video ends with facts on the Psyche Mission, such as its launch in 2022, estimated arrival date of 2026 and its data collection phase from 2026 to 2027.
