About the work: This piece was inspired by the more cartoony-animated art style of superheroes and magical girls. It depicts Psyche as such, and follows her throughout the Psyche Mission, from planning to launch to arrival. The first panel shows Psyche as a kid, dreaming of reaching space, planning out her costume, and going to school. It represents the years of effort, planning, knowledge, and hopes and dreams that went into the Psyche Mission. The second panel shows Psyche in space as a superhero and represents the completion and launch of Psyche. The third panel shows her arriving at Psyche the asteroid and represents exactly that.
