Project Description
In preparation for arrival at Psyche, the team undertook a project to accelerate the rendering of Web Mapping Service data, to minimize lag when rendering high-resolution datasets. Lunaserv currently has the ability to handle global data sets, but suffers performance issues when attempting to render the LROC (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera) data set, owing to the large number (count) and high resolution (number of pixels). The Psyche team seeks to solve this issue before Psyche data are collected.
